Getting to Fairview
The Shetland Islands are accessed by flight or ferry connections to the mainland.
Northlink Ferries operate daily sailings to and from Aberdeen, stopping in Orkney twice a week.
Loganair has flights to Shetland from Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Kirkwall.
Fairview is in the village of Gulberwick, about 10 minutes drive from the Northlink Ferry terminal in Lerwick if you are arriving by boat, or about 40 minutes drive from Sumburgh Airport if flying in with Loganair.
From the Airport: Take the main road north towards Lerwick for about 20 miles. After Quarff look for signs for a right turn into Gulberwick. After turning right follow the road down the hill and continue past the church on the right. Fairview is the first house on the right after the church.
From the Northlink Ferry terminal in Lerwick: Turn left out of the ferry terminal on to the road towards the town centre. At the roundabout adjacent to The Co-operative supermarket (on your left) take the 2nd exit. After about 100 meters, at the next roundabout, turn right (2nd exit) onto North Lochside. Continue to the end of this road and at the next roundabout take the 3rd exit (South Road, A970). Continue along this road up the hill out of town. At the top of the hill, look for a sign to the left for Gulberwick. After turning left follow this road which eventually descends steeply into Gulberwick. Fairview is on your left after the red phone box and before the church.
